Ok, so I haven’t been posting. Things have been busy, weddings, Christmas, Valentine’s, you get the picture.
New Year, new commitment!
Ha- we’ll see how this goes.
Anyroad, February has been a busy month. Spent Valentine’s week with my Budde Road buds. Wouldn’t be bad if there were sky lights! Getting a little long in the tooth for cave work. (if you noticed a plethora of clichés, I blame my mother)
After valentine’s I gave my first floral presentation. The Society for the Advancement of Floral Design members were oh so kind and patient with me. They are the perfect group for first timers. Thank you guys!
Amy Neugebauer was my lovely assistant during the presentation. Amy does beautiful work and will be taking her AIFD PFDE test in Denver this June. Piece of cake Amy! Guess a good time was had by all! (& I didn’t pass out or throw up even once!!!)
My next hurdle was an online class for AIFD evaluators. Faked my way to a 95% score so I get to do the hands on test at Denver. Guess it’s time to finally understand ALL the Elements & Principles of Design! Ha!
Last but not least (warned you of the clichés) I must figure out what I’m doing for the AIFD South Central design show with Beth O’Reilly. The Texas 6 are helping Beth and we each must pick a wedding theme, make 5 designs and then talk about them for 15 minutes. Wouldn’t be too difficult except the other AIFD members in attendance may realize I’m just a floral design “poser”.
Oh well, what the hell-just shoot the half!
By the way, that’s not a wrestling term, it’s a term from the game of craps. It means to “roll the dice oneself”. To not bet on someone else’s roll-that statistically cuts your chances of losing in half!
Well I guess that’s it for now. I plan to upload a few stories & poems- probably take me another 6 months to do it. At this rate it’s costing me about $50 a post. How does anyone afford blogging? Ha!
Well it’s about 12:30pm, 8/5/2014 and this is my first post. Hope this time next year my blog will be filled with beautiful floral designs done by me and others, plus a few short stories and poems. Guess we’ll see….
